Back in Time

Have you always thought to yourself about going back in time? I always have and a lot in the last few weeks and years. I always thought to myself, what would it be like if I went back to high school, got into sports like running, basketball, graduating with a home school co-op. Sometimes I wonder what would be like if the pandemic never happened in 2020.

Then I think about it more and grateful to the Lord I’m here where He wants me. I am grateful for that.

My friends from KCBI said it well:

“It’s easy to look back on the past and think, those were the good old days. I had a friend in college who used to say that about high school all the time. And honestly, I catch myself doing it too... thinking about childhood or teenage years when life felt a whole lot simpler.

There’s nothing wrong with holding on to sweet memories. They’re gifts from God. But as followers of Christ, we’re not meant to live looking backward. We’re called to live with hope for what’s ahead.

Paul says it this way in Philippians 3:13-14: “One thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

The best part of your story hasn’t already happened. God is still writing it. And His ultimate promise for you is eternal life with Him, something no “good old day” here on earth could ever compare to.”
