Give Thanks

Image
Happy Thanksgiving month everyone. At least here in the Texas, the crisp cool weather came in last week, the smells in the house of baked goods, and all the good smells of fall. This month is Thanksgiving. A day where we thank the Lord for everything He’s given us. Sometimes after Halloween, you just want to skip Thanksgiving and move right into Christmas. Yes, that’s me every year. I have already listened to Christmas music, you see Christmas all over the stores, malls, etc.  I always have to remind myself, that Thanksgiving is coming up and not to neglect the holiday.  People always say, we should just be thankful just that one day out of the year, but you should be thankful all month long and even all year. Think back through the year 2025 and write down or just think of what the Lord has blessed you with this year. It doesn’t have to be big but it can be small. For example, I am thankful I woke up today and God has blessed me with another day of living and growing wi...

Back in Time

Image
Have you always thought to yourself about going back in time? I always have and a lot in the last few weeks and years. I always thought to myself, what would it be like if I went back to high school, got into sports like running, basketball, graduating with a home school co-op. Sometimes I wonder what would be like if the pandemic never happened in 2020.  Then I think about it more and grateful to the Lord I’m here where He wants me. I am grateful for that.  My friends from KCBI said it well:  “It’s easy to look back on the past and think, those were the good old days. I had a friend in college who used to say that about high school all the time. And honestly, I catch myself doing it too... thinking about childhood or teenage years when life felt a whole lot simpler. There’s nothing wrong with holding on to sweet memories. They’re gifts from God. But as followers of Christ, we’re not meant to live looking backward. We’re called to live with hope for what’s ahead. Paul say...

KCBI Story

Hello! Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of months.  Have you ever had a place, a friend, celebrity, or pastor that has impacted your life. I have so many of those. One of them is my local Christian radio station. I started listening to KCBI more in the year 2021 a year after the pandemic. Over the past four years, the station has made an impact in my life. To the on air team, teaching, and the music. I’ve gotten to hear so many stories from the DFW area, and new Christian contemporary songs and new artist. Not just listening to the on air team, but getting to know them and knowing what their stories are off air. Just this past year, it has been such an encouragement. My family and I have been going through a lot these past six months and when I listen, it’s been made more of an impact. I might not always relate to everything, but some I do. I am grateful for this radio station, the people, and seeing how the Lord has worked and is continuing to do so!

A Sign of God’s Promises

Image
Last Friday evening,  I was driving home from Dallas Seminary and it started to rain and the sun was out. Making a perfect rainbow. I was able to capture this picture from the window from my car (and yes I was at a stop light).  It reminds me of God’s faithfulness and promises that he’ll never flood the earth again and for us in our daily walk with Him. I always enjoy little reminders, especially during the  hard times. Life can be hard sometimes, but God’s faithfulness to us will never end. He will never fail us.  He is with us no matter what.  Just small reminders of God’s faithfulness to us. It can be as simple as sunset over the lake, rainbows or just nature you see around you.  Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come.   I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.” Genesis 9:12-13 (NLT)

Holy Week

Happy April! April comes in so many colors as flowers bloom. My favorite flowers are especially the Texas bluebonnets. April I always think of Easter. A time to reflect on what Christ did for us on the cross.  Palm Sunday, when Jesus rides on a donkey on the streets and people shouting Hosanna and ending it with Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday. On Good Friday, is when they crucified our Lord. He paid the price for our sins so we didn’t have to.  May we never forget what He did for us. Even after Easter as the year goes on, let’s not forget what He did for us. He will always be with us no matter what. Good Friday might be a day of mourning, but I hope it’s still a good day knowing what Jesus did for us. Then three days later, He resurrected, Easter morning.  The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.   He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Matthe...

Spring 2025

Image
It’s starting to feel like spring time here in Texas, even if we have a week left of winter. Flowers are starting to bloom, the warm weather is starting to show, and the spring rain season is upon us. Do you ever go outside in your backyard or just anywhere in town and just think of how the Lord makes each season?  I enjoy watching the flowers bloom and seeing the cold turn to warmth.  The Lord is our creator. He’s the best artist in the world. He makes each flower bloom, the butterflies sitting and getting pollen, the bees that make honey from the pollen, and watching the birds chirp.  The next time you are outside walking, sitting in your backyard, or driving around town, just remind yourself that God created all the flowers, birds, insects, animals, and so much more. I love little reminders like sunsets or sunrises. Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation:  seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their variou...

Psalm 19:1

Have you always loved watching the sunrise or sunsets over the beach, mountains, in your yard or just anywhere in general. I certainly do. I’ve always loved watching sunrise (if I get up in time) but I normally love sitting out at White Rock Lake and or Rockwall Harbor and watching the sunset on a summer evening.  I love seeing the beauty of sunsets and sunrises that the Lord has made. He’s the best artist and creator in all things. Psalm 19:1 comes to mind when I watch sunsets. I love seeing the heavens light up and knowing there is a God out there. When life seems to be upside down sometimes, just find a little reminder, that everything is going to be okay. For me, it’s sunsets but maybe for you it’s something different. Just know the Lord is always with you know matter what yo I are going through.  This also gives me another reminder, that my life verse is Jeremiah 29:11. He has a plan for you and if you don’t what’s next in life. “The heavens declare the gl...
